WATCH: Prithvi Shaw Is Back! Slams Century On Maharashtra Debut

Ruturaj Gaikwad, another batter at focus during the same game, disappointed big time, getting out for one.

After leaving Mumbai seeking green pastures, Prithvi Shaw has started his second wind with a bang, smashing a 141-ball 111 at the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament.

In the match against Chhattisgarh at the Guru Nanak College Ground in Chennai, Maharashtra batted second after Chhattisgarh had won the toss and opted to bat first. They were bowled out for 252 at a bowling-friendly wicket.

Batting second, Shaw opened the batting alongside Under-19 star Sachin Dhas. However, the experienced Mumbai-born had to fight a lone battle after none of the Maharashtra top-order batters were able to provide resistance against the Chhattisgarh bowlers.

Shaw remained attacking in his approach and hit 15 fours and a six. The most striking part of the 25-year-old’s wagon-wheel was that he ran 40 singles, something that goes against the common perception that Shaw doesn’t like to run and is a lazy batter.
