Prithvi Shaw's BOMBSHELL Request To MCA - Is This The End Of His Mumbai Career?

The 25-year-old opener has received multiple offers from three to four states

Prithvi Shaw has asked for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), reported Cricbuzz. The 25-year-old opener has received multiple offers from three to four states and is eager to represent another state as ‘professional’.

"He has just sent us a letter seeking NOC. We have informed the Apex Council members. We will issue the NOC soon," Abhay Hadap, the secretary of the MCA, told Cricbuzz.

Shaw was dropped from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy set-up last year and hasn’t played for the state since December 2024. He was also left out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad, and also went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction.

"At this juncture of my career, I have been presented with a promising opportunity to play professional cricket under another State Association, which I believe, will further contribute to the growth and development as a cricketer,” Shaw said in his letter to the MCA.

“In light of this, I kindly request you to issue me a No Objection Certificate (NOC) that will enable me to officially represent the new state association in the upcoming domestic season.”
