Former New Zealand batter Colin Munro, who is currently playing for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, accused Multan Sultans' all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed of chucking during an encounter in Multan on April 23 (Wednesday).
The incident happened after Iftikhar bowled the third delivery of the 10th over. The offspinner bowled a quicker one into the blockhole, and Munro gestured something on the lines of 'chucking' to Iftikhar after defending that delivery.
The spinner didn’t like it and said something to Munro before complaining to the on-field umpires. Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan also got involved and asked Munro to focus on his batting. The umpires eventually had to get involved to defuse the situation.
Talking about the match, Islamabad chased down the 169-run target in 17.1 overs, with Munro scoring 45 off 28 deliveries. Meanwhile, Iftikhar conceded 20 runs in his two overs after scoring 10 off 8 in the first innings.
Islamabad have won all of their five encounters so far in the PSL 2025, while Multan have won only one of their five games and are at the bottom of the points table.
