Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara followed up his match-saving 201 not out for Sussex with a gritty 109 in the County Championship match against Worcestershire. However, he scored 12 runs in the second innings as Worcestershire wrapped up the match in two days to clinch a win by innings and 34 runs.
Batting second after Worcestershire put up 491 all out in their first inning, Pujara spent 280 minutes at the crease as he scored 16 boundaries in his knock. Wickets kept tumbling at the other end as the Saurashtra batter returned as the seventh wicket. Sussex were asked to follow-on after being dismissed for 269 all out.
Their second innings was no different as they lost their first two wickets for 17 runs. Pujara's second innings stay did not last long as he was bowled by medium pacer Dillon Pennington, who had dismissed him in the first innings.
Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan had a bad outing with the bat as he was dismissed for a first ball duck in the first innings and managed just four runs in the second innings.
