Punjab Kings had pressed the reset button hard ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction. They had let go of most of their big guns and retained youngsters and uncapped talents like Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh.
However, they then had a really solid auction, during which they managed to buy Shreyas Iyer, the second most expensive player to be sold in the auction, for 26.75 crore.
They also bought Arshdeep Singh to lead their bowling attack for 18 crore and strengthened their all-rounders by acquiring Marcus Stoinis for 11 crore and Glenn Maxwell for 4.20 crore.
They also have elite all-round options like Marco Jansen and Azmatullah Omarzai, who can significantly impact the game. They also managed to acquire the rising finishing sensation Suryansh Shedge from Mumbai.
The IPL 2025 will likely start on March 14 and end in May 2025. The tournament's schedule hasn’t yet been announced.
