At INR 11.50 lakh, Punjab Kings (PBKS) youngster Pyla Avinash was the most expensive player at the 2025 Andhra Premier League (APL) auction. And it took no time for the 25-year-old to showcase his worth as in his very first game of APL 2025, the explosive right-hander hammered 96 off just 39 balls to light up the state tournament.
Representing Royals of Rayalaseema, led by CSK youngster Shaik Rasheed, Avinash walked in at No.4 and went on a rampage, smashing four fours and 11 sixes. He was dismissed by the 15th over and he finished his knock with a strike rate of 246.15.
Avinash, who got picked at the IPL 2025 auction by Punjab Kings after impressing in the trials, got to his fifty off 22 balls and then hurried to 96 off 38 balls in no time. One hit away from a well-deserved century, however, the youngster perished to the bowling of Vijayawada Sunshiners bowler K S Narasimha Raju.
Avinash made his professional T20 debut for Andhra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last year and posted 55 off 39 balls against Maharashtra on debut. In the 2024 Andhra T20 League, he hit 189 runs at an average of 47.25 and strike rate of 142.10. The right-hander, in APL 2024, hit a century for the Bezawada Tigers against the Godavari Titans.
