Quite Sorted Now: Dhoni Backs CSK's Batting After Indian Opener's Comeback

It is not confirmed whether Dhoni will play next season as he would be nearly 45.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had their worst season ever in the Indian Premier League (IPL) when they finished 10th in 2025, their lowest ever ranking in a season. Batting was a big worry for the team in yellow. But that seems to be sorted according to their greatest leader ever, MS Dhoni

Dhoni, who took charge of the team mid-season in IPL 2025 after their original skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad got injured, said that their batting would improve immensely since Gaikwad would be back ahead of the IPL 2025 season.

"We are slightly worried about our batting order. But I think our batting order is quite sorted out now. Rutu (Gaikwad) will be coming back. He got injured. But he will be coming back. So, we are quite sorted now,” Dhoni was quoted as saying by PTI, during an event in Chennai on August 2nd (Saturday).

The man with five IPL titles as captain to his name was not even an iota shy to admit that the team had a bad IPL 2025 season. He further suggested that certain loopholes needed to be worked upon, and they will be in the upcoming mini-auction.

"I won't say we [CSK] slacked off. But there were certain holes that we needed to plug in. A small auction is coming in December. Some loopholes are there, and we will try to plug those in,” Dhoni said.

It is not confirmed whether Dhoni will play next season, as he would be nearly 45.
