Rahul Dravid's Younger Son Named Captain, Older Included In Karnataka U-23 Side
Karnataka announced squads for all three major trophies at U-19, U-23 and senior level
It was a day of happiness in the Dravid household as the two sons of one of the greatest cricketers of India, Rahul Dravid -- Samit and Anvay -- were named in the state teams of Karnataka.
While Anvay Dravid was named captain of the state U-19 team for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (white-ball tournament), which begins on October 9, Samit Dravid was selected in the U-23 squad for the Multi-Day Col CK Nayudu Trophy 2025-26.
Along with these two trophies, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) also announced the team for the Ranji Trophy. The biggest omission from the selected candidates was Manish Pandey. It seems that his First-Class career is nearly over.
Karun Nair, who, after an average showing in England, was removed from the national Test set-up, has gone back to Karnataka, after playing two seasons, which included a Ranji Trophy-winning campaign for Vidarbha in 2024-25.
