The 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is now in its final stage. The final is set to be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3 from 7:30 PM. Both sides would be looking to win their first trophy of the league, but there’s a good chance that the match can be interrupted by rain.
As per the weather predictions yesterday, there’s around 50% chances of rain in Ahmedabad in the evening hours leading to the game. True to the predictions yesterday, it has already started raining in many parts of the city.
While the temperature will remain in the mid-30s in Ahmedabad around the start of the game time, high levels of humidity are expected during the game hours. While the precipitation chances reduce as the night begins, it remains between 2-5% in the forecast with high levels of humidity in excess of 60%.
Keeping in mind the possible rain, the BCCI have fixed June 4 as the reserve day. That is, if the final is not completed due to rain on June 3, then the match will be held the next day. However, if the rain interferes even on the reserve day, and the match isn’t completed, then, according to the IPL rules, the team that has scored the most points in the league stage will be declared the winner.
In this case, the Kings will be declared the champions of IPL 2025, as they secured the first position in the league stage.
