Rajapaksa back in Sri Lanka's squad for Australia ODIs
Niroshan Dickwella and Danushka Gunathilaka also return to the 21-player squad for the five-match series
Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Danushka Gunathilaka and Niroshan Dickwella returned Sri Lanka's ODI squad for the upcoming five-match series against Australia. Sri Lanka Cricket on Friday announced 21-player squad led by Dasun Shanaka for the series beginning on June 14 at Pallekele.
Rajapaksa, who featured in the Indian Premier League 2022 for Punjab Kings, made a return to the ODI set up after last playing in the home series against South Africa in September last year. Under-19 captain Dunith Wellalage also received his maiden call-up alongside spin-bowling allrounders Dhananjaya de Silva and Wanindu Hasaranga.
Pace-bowling trio Nuwan Pradeep, Chamika Gunasekara, Shiran Fernando and keeper-batter Minod Bhanuka were dropped for the series.
Dushmantha Chameera, Nuwan Thushara and Asitha Fernando will form the pace arsenal alongside five spin options consisting Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, and Praveen Jayawickrama alongside De Silva.
The five ODIs are set to be played on June 14, 16, 19, 21 and 24. The first two matches will be played at Pallekele while Colombo will host the remaining three.
