Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar was fined INR 12 lakh for a slow over-rate offence in Match 20 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7 (Monday).
This was Patidar and RCB’s first slow-over-rate offence of IPL 2025. MI’s Hardik Pandya, Rajasthan Royals (RR)’s Riyan Parag and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)’s Rishabh Pant are the other captains already fined for a similar offence in the IPL 2025.
RCB defeated MI by 12 runs and got their third win of the season. They have only lost one of their four games and are currently at No.3 on the IPL 2025 points table.
Patidar smashed 64 off 32 deliveries against MI and helped RCB reach 221/5 in their 20 overs. He was named Player of the Match for his knock.
Patidar has smacked 161 runs in four innings at an average of 40.25 and a strike rate of 175 in the IPL 2025.
