A recall to the Indian Test side might not be too far away for Rajat Patidar, who today (September 12) in Bengaluru continued his stunning form in red-ball cricket as he smashed a ton in the final of the 2025 Duleep Trophy. Patidar, captain of Central Zone, sizzled with a rapid knock as he posted 101 off just 115 balls to help his side take the all-important first-innings lead in the Grand Finale.
The stroke-filled knock saw the right-hander smash 12 fours and 2 sixes and bat at a strike rate over 90.00 for the best part of his innings. He was eventually dismissed by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Gurjapneet Singh.
The ton today means Patidar continues his outrageous run in red-ball cricket. The 32-year-old has played four innings in the 2025 Duleep Trophy, and his scores read 101, 77, 125 & 66. Not just that, he has now scored 867 runs across his last 14 first-class innings at an average of over 60.00, posting three tons and four fifties.
Patidar last played Test cricket for India in February 2024, but a recall might be imminent should he keep up his current form. The IPL-winning skipper also looks all set to lead Central Zone to the Duleep Trophy title.
