After being a flop during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), scoring only 31 runs in seven matches that he was part of throughout the campaign, Deepak Hooda has found form in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26.
Playing for Rajasthan in India’s premier red-ball tournament, Hooda has already scored two centuries, while playing only his third game of the season. After a 130 against Chhattisgarh in the first round, helping Rajasthan collect six important points, Hooda could not deal with Jammu and Kashmir’s pace and swing.
After getting out for 5 in the first innings, he tried his best and top-scored for the side with 28 when the entire team was rolled over for 89 and tasted a defeat by an innings.
Coming back from the valley, he once again showed great form and smashed yet another century. He remained not out 121 off 159 balls, as Rajasthan went past Mumbai’s first innings total of 254 with ease.
He would be looking to convert this hundred into a daddy hundred or even a double century to make sure that he remains in contention for a retention by the Super Kings on the basis of his form.
