Ravindra Jadeja, on February 20 (Thursday), became the 15th Indian player to play 200 One-Day Internationals (ODIs). He becomes only the third Indian spinner to get to the milestone.
The spin-bowling all-rounder from Saurashtra got to the landmark after being named in India’s playing XI for their first game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against Bangladesh in Dubai.
Jadeja could have reached the landmark in the third and final ODI against England in Ahmedabad on February 12, but the 36-year-old was rested for the fixture, with India having already won the series. In 199 ODIs, Jadeja has scored 2779 runs at an average of 32.69, including 13 fifties. The left-arm spinner also has 226 wickets at an average of 35.38 and an economy rate of 4.86.
Amongst these 15 Indian players, Jadeja is only the second cricketer after Kapil Dev to have 2000 runs and 200 wickets in the 50-over format.
