Ravindra Jadeja picks yet another 5-fer to bring up 200 wickets in Ranji Trophy
Jadeja is the 20th person in Ranji Trophy history to complete the double of 3,000 runs + 200 wickets
It was a special outing for Ravindra Jadeja in Rajkot against Delhi as the left-arm spinner picked his 18th five-wicket haul in Ranji Trophy to bring up his 200th wicket in the competition. Jadeja became the fourth Saurashtra bowler after Jaydev Unadkat, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja and Kamlesh Makvana to get to the landmark.
Playing his first Ranji game in two years, it took Jadeja only 11 balls to strike as he trapped Delhi opener Sanat Sangwan LBW for 12. He also got the better of a set Yash Dhull (44) as his second scalp.
After removing opposition skipper and top scorer Ayush Badoni for 60 Jadeja brought up his third wicket for the day. The Saurashtra bowler eventually completed his five-fer by dismissing No.10 Harsh Tyagi and No.11 Navdeep Saini.
The 36-year-old’s efforts helped Saurashtra bowl Delhi out for 188 after they were asked to bowl.
In addition to having picked 201 wickets, Jadeja has also scored 3399 runs at 58.6 for Saurashtara in the Ranji Trophy. He famously has three triple centuries to his name with the bat in hand.
