Rawalpindi to host historic England-Pakistan limited-overs series

England men and women's team will arrive in Pakistan on October 9

England Men and Women who will tour Pakistan for limited-overs series will play all their matches at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, in Rawalpindi, the PCB announced on Friday (August 13).

While the Eoin Morgan-led side will play a couple of T20 Internationals (T20I) on October 13 and 14, the women, led by Heather Knight will not just play two T20Is but will also play three One-Day Internationals (ODI) on October 17, 19 and 21. The Women T20Is will be played on the same day as the men's matches.

The men's matches were initially scheduled to be played on October 14 and 15 at the National Stadium, Karachi, but had to be rescheduled due to operational reasons.

“We are delighted to welcome both the England men’s team for what will be their first tour to Pakistan since 2005, and the England women’s team, who will be touring Pakistan for the first time. Both are additional tours with England men’s side scheduled to return to Pakistan in the last quarter of 2022 for white-ball and ICC World Test Championship fixtures,” PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said.

This is the first time England Women will tour Pakistan, while the men last visited the country back in 2005. The teams will arrive in Pakistan on October 9.

With the tour set to clash with the final week of the Indian Premier League (IPL), it will be interesting to see how many England players make themselves for this series. The Pakistan tour will be a final chance for England to get their combination right ahead of the T20 World Cup.
