RCB bring in Parnell, Vyshak as replacement players

The two have been brought in as replacements for Reece Topley and Rajat Patidar

Royal Challengers Bangalore have brought in Wayne Parnell (INR 75 lakh) and Vyshak Vijaykumar (INR 20 lakh) as replacements for Reece Topley and Rajat Patidar for the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023, the franchise announced on Friday (April 7).

Topley, the left-arm seamer from England, featured in the first game against Mumbai Indians but dislocated his right shoulder while diving at short third-man. Meanwhile, Patidar was ruled out of the entire season due to an Achilles Heel injury

Talking about Parnell, the left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder from South Africa has already played 26 IPL games and has picked up as many wickets at an economy rate of 7.35. The 33-year-old is now a regular member of the South African white-ball set-up.

On the other hand, Vyshak has been impressive for Karnataka in all three formats ever since his debut in 2021. In 14 T20s, the 26-year-old right-arm pacer has taken 22 wickets at an economy rate of 6.92 and a strike rate of 13.9.

Bangalore started their season with a convincing win over Mumbai Indians but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by 81 runs on Thursday. They are next scheduled to take on Lucknow Super Giants on Monday.
