On June 3, 2025, every Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fan would have been jubilant as the franchise brought home their first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title after an 18-season wait. Joy soon turned into tragedy the following day as 11 fans lost their lives in a stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during the victory parade.

In their official statement post the incident, RCB had announced financial support of INR 10 lakh for the 11 families, along with setting up a "RCB Cares" fund to cater to those injured as well.Β

On August 28 (Thursday), the franchise made their first post on social media after nearly three months of silence.

Here's the full transcript:

"Dear 12th Man Army, this is our heartfelt letter to you! Β It’s been close to three months since we last posted here. The Silence wasn’t Absence. It was Grief. This space was once filled with energy, memories and moments that you enjoyed the most.. But June 4th changed everything.

"That day broke our hearts, and the silence since then has been our way of holding space. In that silence, we’ve been grieving. Listening. Learning. And slowly, we’ve begun to build something more than just a response. Something we truly believe in.

"That’s how π—₯𝗖𝗕 𝗖𝗔π—₯π—˜π—¦ came to life. It grew out of a need to honour, to heal, and to stand beside our fans. A platform for meaningful action shaped by our community & fans.

We return to this space today, not with celebration but with care. To share. To stand with you. To walk forward, together. To continue being the pride of Karnataka. Β π—₯𝗖𝗕 𝗖𝗔π—₯π—˜π—¦. And we always will. πŸ–€ More details soon…"

Since the stampede, the Chinnaswamy Stadium has been stripped of hosting any competitive matches, including the Maharaja T20 Trophy, which was shifted to Mysore and also the Women's ODI World Cup, which has been moved to Navi Mumbai.
