Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have lost the toss once again at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as Punjab Kings inserted them to bat first in the IPL 2025 contest on April 18, 2025 (Friday). This is the third consecutive time at home this season that RCB have lost the toss and are forced to bat first on a sluggish Chinnaswamy wicket.
Winning the toss, Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer dropped the bombshell of leaving Glenn Maxwell out of the Playing XI for this contest. Maxwell has been in a terrible run of form this season, having averaged 8.33 with the bat, striking at just 100. His performance with the ball is slightly better, with the Aussie all-rounder picking four wickets at an average of 27.50. Marcus Stonis will be his replacement.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru didn’t make any changes to the side.
