Reports: Pakistan Team Won’t Attend 2025 Women’s WC Opening Ceremony
Pakistan women’s team won’t be part of the opening ceremony in India
Yet again, there’s tension between India and Pakistan, as the Pakistan women’s team won’t travel to India for the upcoming 2025 Women’s World Cup’s opening ceremony. According to Geo Super, a news outlet based out of Pakistan, neither Fatima Sana nor the team will travel to India for the grand opening.
The two teams don’t play bilateral series, with India not visiting Pakistan since 2008. Not just that, Pakistan will be playing all their group stage games in Colombo, at the R Premadasa Stadium, instead of India.
Additionally, the venue will also host the semi-final, if Pakistan advance from the group stage. Pakistan are slated to play India on October 5, a contest that yet again will happen in Dubai. India convincingly smashed Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup, when these two sides last met in the Middle East.
