Sam Curran continues to produce match-winning performances across formats in domestic cricket as on July 9 (Wednesday), the all-rounder powered Surrey to their seventh win of Vitality Blast 2025 with a terrific performance. Skippering the side, Curran, against Gloucestershire, hit 46 with the bat playing at No.4 before taking three wickets with the ball (3/32) to seal a 28-run win for his side.
Surrey has a power-packed batting line-up with the presence of the likes of Will Jacks, Jason Roy and Dan Lawrence, but even then, Curran is currently the second-highest run-getter for the side in Vitality Blast 2025, with 269 runs at a strike rate of 138. To complement this, he’s also the second-highest wicket-taker for Surrey with 13 wickets at an economy of 8.44.
Two weeks back, Curran smashed his second first-class century in the County Championship clash against Durham.
He will soon be linking up with India’s R Sai Kishore, who has signed up to play two red-ball matches for Surrey.
Based on his recent form, it looks certain that Curran will be retained for IPL 2026 by his franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
