Revised IPL Schedule Announced: Season To Restart From May 17, Final on June 3
The remaining games of the 2025 IPL will be held in six different venues and will include two double headers on two Sundays
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the new schedule for the remainder of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after consultations with security agencies, all the main stakeholders and the government. The season will restart from May 17 and will end with the final scheduled on June 3.
The remaining 17 games of the tournament, including the final, will be played on six different venues, including Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. While the venues for the 13 group stage games have been decided, the venues for the playoffs (the two qualifiers, the eliminator and the final) will be announced later.
Notably, there would be two double-header days on the two Sundays, May 18 and May 25.
The season had to be stopped midway on May 8 after tensions escalated between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor. The match in Dharamshala between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals got abandoned midway, and the spectators in the stadium had to be evacuated on a moment's notice.
As things stand, Gujarat Titans (16 points in 11 games), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (16 points in 11 games), Punjab Kings (15 points in 11 games) and Mumbai Indians (14 points in 12 games) occupy the top four positions on the points table.
