Riyan Parag got the wicket of Rohit Sharma, who was caught on 53 off 36 balls by Yashasvi Jaiswal, with that wicket on May 1 (Thursday) at the Sawami Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur during match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians.
This was Parag’s fifth wicket of his 81-match career, and all five wickets that he has taken, apart from one, are of the great batters in the world.
The other four dismissals by Parag include Chris Gayle, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill and Gurkeerat Singh Mann. Parag’s maiden wicket was Iyer, which he took in 2019 in Jaipur, while the wicket of Rohit is his first after a gap of three years, with the last dismissal by him, which was of Shubman Gill, which came in 2022.
Parag's other wickets—Chris Gayle and Gurkeerat Singh Mann—came in 2021 and 2019, respectively.
