Rohit Sharma Immortalises Himself In Mumbai Indians History With A Crazy Record
Sharma did a double of records against SRH, becoming MI’s most successful six-hitter and also completing 12,000 T20 runs.
Mumbai Indians (MI) former skipper Rohit Sharma has been enjoying his return to form in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), where his scores have moved in ascending order with every new game.
Rohit scored 76* off just 45 deliveries against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and announced himself in the 2025 season for the first time. A game before, he had scored 26(16) against SRH at the Wankhede.
On the day against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rohit became MI’s most successful six-hitter, overtaking Kieron Pollard, and also completed 12,000 runs in T20 cricket to make it a special night for himself. Rohit has been a prolific six-hitter for all the teams he has played for, and now he has overtaken Pollard, who has 258 sixes in 171 innings. Rohit reached there in 260 innings.
Meanwhile, Rohit also scored 12,000 runs in T20 cricket while batting in the second innings and became only the eighth player to reach the milestone. Virat Kohli is the only other Indian on the list, and Chris Gayle has the most runs in T20 cricket—14,562.
At the time of writing this report, Rohit had already brought up his half century in the game, which is his consecutive 50+ score. Notably, Rohit has the fourth-most 50+ scores in India in T20s.
