After scoring a match-winning 81 off 50 against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Eliminator, Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma got out for just 8 off 7 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in Ahmedabad on June 1 (Sunday).
Rohit was named Player of the Match against GT, but he only managed to score those many runs because he was dropped twice in the first three overs. He was dropped once again against PBKS but could not capitalise on it this time around.
In the second over of the innings, it was Azmatullah Omarzai who dropped Rohit at the third man region off Kyle Jamieson’s bowling. Rohit, however, hit Marcus Stoinis straight to the fielder at deep square leg in the very next over.
