Rohit Sharma Pulls Well Due To Tennis Ball Cricket: Childhood Coach
The India skipper struck form at the right time with a century in the second ODI against England in Cuttack
Rohit Sharma's childhood coach, Dinesh Lad, believes it was the batter's tennis ball practice that helped him perfect the straight and pull shots. Rohit, one of the best timers of the ball, is known for his ferocious pull shots, which not many bowlers have an answer for.
"Tennis-ball cricket is vital for the growth of a cricketer," Lad said in a statement released by Indian Street Premier League (ISPL).
"The way Rohit plays straight shots and then pull shots, I think it was his practice with a tennis ball that helped him better his shots."
Rohit is one of just five Indian players to score more than 10,000 runs in ODIs and has as many as 32 tons in the format. he returned to form with a superb century against England in the second ODI in Cuttack, just in time for the Champions Trophy.
Under his leadership, India recently won their second T20 World Cup title. He will lead them in the Champions Trophy 2025, starting February 19.
