SA20 final postponed to February 12 due to wet conditions

The weather forecast for Sunday seems to be promising and we could have a full game

The SA20 final between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals at The Wanderers, Johannesburg has been postponed to Sunday (February 12) due to wet weather conditions. The game was due to be played on Saturday (February 11), but the pitch was under covers for a few days leading up to the final and the ground conditions too were not ideal.

The good news is that the weather forecast for tomorrow seems to be good and we can expect some action.

"The ground preparation for the match has been compromised, with the pitch remaining under covers for three days and over 200ml of rain falling since Wednesday this week. The SA Weather Service has predicted more showers for the remainder of Saturday, with a clearer outlook predicted for Sunday," a media release from SA20 stated.

Former South Africa captain and the current SA20 commissioner Graeme Smith added, "We've engaged the match officials, teams, groundsman, stakeholders and the SA Weather Service, and postponing the match is the best decision to allow for the possibility of a full match in drier conditions. We want to give the teams and spectators a memorable Final."

Pretoria Capitals defeated Paarl Royals by 29 runs in the first semi-final on Wednesday (February 8) in Johannesburg to book their place in the final while the Aiden Markram Sunrisers edged past Joburg Super Kings by 14 runs at the SuperSport Park, Centurion to progress.
