SA20 Shock: Markram, Brevis & De Kock RELEASED Ahead Of Auction

It was a shocking reveal as the SA20 teams announced their list of pre-signed and retained players on July 23 (Wednesday). Big names in South African cricket such as Aiden Markram, Quinton de Kock and young superstar Dewald Brevis were surprisingly released by their respective franchises.
The list was published after all the teams submitted their separate sheets with pre-signed / retained players by the end of July 18, the last date to do so ahead of the auction for the next season.
Amongst the retained South African players were Heinrich Klaasen, Donovan Ferreira, Faf du Plessis, Ryan Rickelton, George Linde, Corbin Bosch, Kagiso Rabada, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, David Miller, Bjorn Fortuin, Rubin Hermann, Tristan Stubbs and Marco Jansen.
It is not clear where the likes of Markram and Bravis themselves wanted to go to the auction table or whether their franchises were unable to fulfil their demands and thus released them.
However, one thing is clear that they, alongside the likes of other famous Proteas players, such as Lungi Ngidi, Wiaan Mulder, Keshav Maharaj, Kwena Maphaka, Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi, will be going under the hammer.
Each team is permitted a maximum of 6 retained or pre-signed players, comprising a maximum of 3 South African and 3 overseas players during the player retention window.
