Sachini Nisansala included in Sri Lanka's squad for West Indies ODIs
The 22-year-old made her ODI debut in June 2022 but hasn't played a 50-over game for Sri Lanka since then
Sachini Nisansala has been included in Sri Lanka’s squad for the three-match home One-Day International series against West Indies, starting on June 15.
Nisansala made her ODI debut in June 2022 against Pakistan and conceded 24 runs in her four overs. The 22-year-old left-arm spin-bowling allrounder has featured in five T20Is, picking up three wickets at an economy of 4.95. She last played a T20I in May 2022.
Wicketkeeper-batter Prasadani Weerakkody, who was part of the squad that went to South Africa earlier this year, has been left out. She only played one ODI, scoring four runs.
Sri Lanka have won only five of their 18 games in the ICC ODI Championship 2022-25 and are placed eighth on the points table. Meanwhile, the West Indies are currently at No. 7.
All three ODIs will be played in Galle on June 15, 18 and 21. The two teams will then be involved in a three-match T20I series in Hambantota (June 24, 26 and 28).
