Sadeera Samarawickrama, who has made the headline over the last few weeks in the Lanka Premier League has earnt himself a recall into the national setup. The 27-year-old cricketer was the second highest run-scorer in the competition, and also won the Man of the Tournament award, will be keen to make his tenth T20I appearance for Sri Lanka against India.
Another notable return has been in the form of Avishka Fernando, who was the highest run-scorer in the LPL, including winning the Player of the Match in the final. Fernando makes his return to the setup for the first time since February series against Australia. Chamika Karunaratne, who was dropped from the squad against Afghanistan too marks his return.
Uncapped bowler Nuwanidu Fernando has found himself a spot in the ODI format, with Nuwan Thushara being picked for the T20I format. Jeffrey Vandersay, who was impressive in the home ODI series against Australia is yet again picked for the 50-over format.
Charith Asalanka, who suffered a terrible 2022 holds his place in the setup, as Sri Lanka travel across to India for a three-match T20I and ODI series, that starts from January 3.
