Sai Sudharsan made Indian Premier League (IPL) history as the 23-year-old became the youngest-ever batter to amass 700 runs in an IPL season. The talented left-hander got to the 700-run mark during the Eliminator clash against Mumbai Indians, on May 30 (Friday).
In the process, Sudharsan broke his teammate and opening partner, Shubman Gill’s record (23 years and 257 days). Sudharsan only became the ninth batter in IPL history to rake up 700 runs in an IPL season.
The left-hander followed the footsteps of Gill and Virat Kohli to become the latest batter to smash 700 runs in a season. Sudharsan has already scored 722 runs in the year, averaging a staggering 55.4, with five half-centuries and a mighty century (108* against Delhi Capitals).
