After conceding 109 runs in 6.3 overs in the first two games, Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Jofra Archer has bounced back in the next two with figures of 4/38 across seven overs.
Three of those wickets came against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mullanpur on April 5 (Saturday), where the England fast bowler also took home the Player of the Match award for his figures of 3/25, which included the key wicket of Shreyas Iyer. As a result, RR went on to register a comfortable 50-run victory.
Sandeep Sharma, who supported Archer well with figures of 2/21, says that the team management never doubted Archer's abilities even for a second.
"We always knew Jofra is a world-class bowler. The skill he brings to the table and into the game -- very few can match that," Sandeep said at the post-match presentation.
"The entire management and team had confidence in him. We believed that once he gets that one over, that one wicket, maybe two good overs, it would boost his confidence, and now, you've seen what he can do. He's one of the toughest bowlers to face. I'm sure this was just our fourth game, and with more matches, he'll only get better and better."
RR will hope to add to their two wins when they take on Gujarat Giants (GT) in Ahmedabad on April 9 (Wednesday).
