NEWSAgainst Sri Lanka and Ireland, Bangladesh endured two defeats to kick-start their journey in the Middle East on the worst foot possible albeit it being in the absence of some stars. However, ahead of their first qualifier clash against Scotland, skipper Mahmudullah confirmed the availability of the star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who was recently in action for Kolkata Knight Riders against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL final.
''Shakib is available. Probably he is a bit tired after coming back from the IPL but he is there with us,'' Mahmudullah said.
With 11 wins out of their last 20 T20 clashes, Bangladesh would walk into the qualifiers, confident of walking away with a place in the main event. Mahmudullah insisted that he is unfazed about the loss in the practice games.
''I am not bothered what others are saying and I feel as a team we have the ability. We are not bothered about the practice games as we missed few players and now we know what we have to do,'' Mahmudullah added.

''We will play hard cricket and if we can play to our potential result will take care of itself. We have to cross a few barriers and we want to go step by step and I hope if we can play good cricket tomorrow we can go a long way."
Questioned about Mushfiqur Rahim’s form, the all-rounder insisted that the management isn’t concerned about the wicketkeeper’s form and added that one innings is enough for the veteran to overturn his fortunes.
''We are not concerned about Mushfiqur form and he will come back. He just needs one good innings to regain his form and it might be tomorrow. We all know about his capability and we fully back him."
