On June 24 (Monday), India announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour, including the exciting all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, alongside a plethora of Indian Premier League talents.
However, two days after the announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that the injured Nitish Reddy is out of the five-match T20I series. Instead, Shivam Dube, who is part of India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad, will take his place in the 15-man squad.
“The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring Nitish Reddy’s progress,” read BCCI’s statement.
India’s five-match T20I series will begin on July 6, 2024, in what would be their first assignment post the T20 World Cup.
India’s updated squad: Ꮪhubman Gill (Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Tushar Deshpande, Shivam Dube
