After a dismal performance in the first Test against West Indies, Bangladesh received a massive boost as Shoriful Islam was declared fit to join the team ahead of the second Test against West Indies, starting from June 24 in St Lucia.

The left-arm pacer has played four Test matches for Bangladesh and scalped six wickets after making his debut against Sri Lanka in April 2021. The 21-year old was recovering from a hand injury and missed the second Test match against Sri Lanka and the first Test against the Windies.
With the visiting side struggling with their resources in the fast bowling department, the inclusion of Shoriful for the second Test will provide Shakib Al Hasan with an opportunity to try out new combinations heading into the second game.
Bangladesh suffered a comprehensive seven-wicket defeat against West Indies and will look to Shoriful to help the team find some form and level the series.
