It might be too early to predict but there seems to be signs that India might have to rest one of their premium pacers ahead of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Gabba, Brisbane.
Since the Day-Night Test in Adelaide ended inside seven sessions, the Rohit Sharma-led side decided to pull together a practice session at the Adelaide Oval before their departure to Brisbane. The series stands at 1-1.
However, neither Jasprit Bumrah nor Mohammed Siraj bowled in the nets as the rest of the Indian batters and bowlers sweated it out in the South Australian city. Bumrah, on the contrary, was seen in deep discussions with the strength and condition coach of the Indian team, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.
Earlier in the match, Bumrah was seen clutching to his inner thigh while bowling in Australia's first innings and needed immediate medical assistance. India bowling coach Morne Morkel had called it cramps.
However, former Australia pacer Damien Fleming said that there were no cramps at all.
“There's no way that’s cramp. He was very ginger after the break in the first innings. There’s got to be some serious doubts. Siraj might be workload [related] but I’m bemused Bumrah bowled that over [in the second innings],” Fleming told SEN radio.
