Mohammed Siraj might have missed the Asia Cup 2025, but in the first Test of the two-match series against West Indies, he picked up from where he had left at the Oval in England in August 2025, when he had single-handedly won India a lost battle.
The 31-year-old was on fire with the new ball in hand, picking four of the top five batters of West Indies. While his first three wickets came in the first session of play, the last one came at the start of the second session.
Despite that, Siraj was unable to take his maiden five-wicket haul at home as Jasprit Bumrah and two spinners – Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar chipped in with wickets.
However, even without the five-wicket haul, Siraj was able to make this innings one to remember as he registered his best bowling figures in home conditions. The Hyderabad pacer finished with figures of 4/40, which was way better than his previous best at home - 4/84 against England.
