SMAT: All-Round Arjun Tendulkar Takes 3/17 For Goa While Also Opening The Batting

Earlier this month, he got traded to LSG from MI

The Arjun Tendulkar all-rounder era is officially upon us as the newest Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) star has been both opening the batting and taking the new ball for Goa in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

In the clash against Chandigarh today, Tendulkar opened the batting and started briskly with 14 off 9 balls before unfortunately getting run-out. However, he returned in the second innings, took the new ball and produced a match winning performance as he registered figures of 4-0-17-3 to bowl Goa to a 52-run victory at the Eden Gardens.

This is the second consecutive game in SMAT 2025 in which Tendulkar is opening the batting while also bowling upfront. Against Uttar Pradesh, he hit 28 off 22 balls with the bat in hand, but had a disappointing outing with the ball in hand, registering figures of 0/29 in 2.2 overs.

Earlier this month, LSG traded the 26-year-old for INR 30 lakh in an all-cash deal, from Mumbai Indians (MI). Tendulkar is still a rookie at the IPL level, having played just five games overall, having taken three wickets at an economy just under 10.00. He made his IPL debut in the 2023 season, and his last game came in IPL 2024 against LSG at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
