Sourav Ganguly Wants India To Break All Ties With Pakistan

The former Indian skipper’s statement comes after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam killed 26 people

The India-Pakistan relations are going through yet another turmoil post terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. With the authorities confirming the involvement of a Pakistan-origin terrorist group in the attack, a massive outrage is taking place in India against the neighbors

While the broadcast of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 by the Indian streaming service Fancode has already stopped in India, the Indian crew members involved in the broadcast in Pakistan will also be called back. This can leave the tournament’s coverage in jeopardy, as Indians make up a significant section of the broadcast crew.

Amidst this environment, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly condemned the Pahalgam attack by asking for swift action against the terrorists alongside breaking all ties with Pakistan.

“100 per cent, this (breaking ties with Pakistan) should be done," Ganguly told the media, as posted in a video by ANI. “Strict action is necessary. It is no joke that such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated,” the former left-handed batter added.

Cricket relations between the two nations are already at a standstill and the neighbours only play each other in ICC tournaments. As per new reports after the terrorist attack, BCCI might even ask the ICC to not keep India and Pakistan in the same group in global tournaments.

Notably, the Pakistani women have qualified for the ODI World Cup in India, however, a hybrid model can be expected for the tournament where Pakistan will play their games outside of India.
