South Africa To Kick-Start WTC 2025-27 Campaign Against Pakistan In October
This tour will serve as a precursor to the India tour in November / December
It’s been non-stop white-ball action for South Africa over the last two months, but the Proteas will finally return to red-ball action in October, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirming the dates for the two-Test series between the teams.
As part of the 2025-2027 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, both teams will kick-start their respective WTC campaigns next month, with the two-Test series being played from October 12 to October 24. The Test series will be followed by a full-fledged white-ball series as well, with the two sides playing three T20Is and as many ODIs.
The tour of Pakistan will serve as a precursor to the India tour for South Africa, who are scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is in India across November and December.
In the 2023-25 WTC cycle, South Africa and Pakistan had extremely contrasting campaigns. While the Proteas topped the table and eventually lifted the WTC mace, Pakistan finished bottom, behind the likes of Bangladesh and West Indies, with a PCT of 27.98%.
The Men in Green will thus be hoping for a much better campaign this time around. South Africa, meanwhile, will be pushing for yet another strong campaign, having broken the ICC Trophy duck at Lord’s earlier this year.
