Sreesanth Suspended By Kerala Cricket Association For 3 Years
Sreesanth had accused KCA of robbing Samson a place in the Indian CT 2025 side by not picking him for VHT 2024-25.
There seems to be no truce between S Sreesanth and the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) as the latter suspended the former for three years in the 'Sanju Samson not being picked in the state’s Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2024-25 squad' controversy.
Sreesanth, co-owner of the Aries Kollam Sailors franchise in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL), was suspended after KCA’s general body meeting in Kochi on April 30.
“Following the controversial remarks, KCA issued show-cause notices to Sreesanth and the franchisee teams, Kollam Aries, Alleppey Team Lead content creator Sai Krishna, and Alleppey Ripples,” Indian Express quoted KCA as saying in a statement on May 2.
“As the franchisee teams gave satisfactory replies to the notice, the meeting decided not to proceed with further action against them. However, the KCA instructed the team management to be vigilant when including new members,” the KCA statement added.
The controversy dates back to India announcing its ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad where Sanju Samson was not picked in the side because he did not play in VHT as he was not picked by the Kerala team, after he failed to attend a state camp in Wayanad ahead of Christmas in 2024.
Speaking to the media then, Sreesanth had accused KCA of robbing Samson of a place in the Indian CT 2025 side by not picking him for VHT 2024-25.
