T Natarajan will finally play in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), as Delhi Capitals decided to give him a debut in Hyderabad.
Natarajan, notably, has a lot of experience of playing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad as he represented Sunrisers Hyderabad from 2020 to 2024. His selection can be a condition-based call.
Meanwhile, SRH skipper Pat Cummins decided to chase after winning the toss and asked DC to bat first. They made three big changes in their playing eleven, by dropping Mohammed Shami, Nitish Kumar Reddy and bringing in the experienced Kerala player Sachin Baby in the final eleven.
DC have lost some momentum after losing three of their last four games, and as a result, they have slightly altered the balance of their side by keeping their impact player option, as they have as many as six bowling options in their batting eleven.
Ashutosh Sharma can be slotted in during batting, or Mukesh Kumar/Mohit Sharma can come in while bowling. They need to win this game as Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings are breathing down their neck on the points table.
Meanwhile, SRH would look to win this match anyhow, as a defeat here would end all mathematical probabilities of their playoff qualification.
