NEWSJust after the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE, Sri Lanka will return home to take on West Indies for a couple of Test matches in November-December 2021 and this will also mark both sides' first WTC encounter of this cycle. Even though the World Cup will conclude on November 14, West Indies Test specialists will arrive in the Island nation on November 10 to play a warm-up fixture from November 14 in Colombo.
The first Test match will be played on November 21st and the second on November 29 at the Galle International stadium. Players, who are taking part in the World Cup, will be featuring in the series as well.
In the 2019-21 WTC Cycle, Sri Lanka and West Indies finished seventh and eighth on the table with just one series win each of the six they played. They will look to do better this time around with Sri Lanka slated to host Australia and Pakistan apart from West Indies. Meanwhile, West Indies will play South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Australia away apart from hosting Pakistan, England, and Bangladesh at home.
Sri Lanka will also travel to India for a two-match Test series early next year, with M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, and Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali hosting both the games.
