Sri Lanka Women have announced a 17-member squad for their One-Day International (ODI) tri-series against India and South Africa at home. While Chamari Athapaththu will continue to lead the side, Sri Lanka have made as many as eight changes to their squad that was defeated by New Zealand recently.
Among those changes, medium-pacer Malki Madara earns her maiden ODI call-up after making her T20I debut against New Zealand recently.
Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilakshi Silva, Hasini Perera, Piumi Wathsala, Dewmi Vihanga, Inoka Ranaweera and Hansima Karunaratne have returned to the team after missing the previous tour.
The tri-series will begin on April 27 in Colombo, with Sri Lanka taking on India in the first game. The final will be played on May 11. This series offers an excellent opportunity for all three teams to get their combinations right as they prepare for the Women's ODI World Cup later this year.
