After a day’s break, the Caribbean T20 action continues as St Kitts & Nevis Patriots go head on with St Lucia Zouks in Match 7 at The Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba. Having lost both their matches, the Patriots would have expected a better start from the team. However, with a win% of 62.5 against the Zouks, the Patriots will hope to get back to winning ways. On the other hand, after losing their first match, Zouks will be high on confidence with a win over the defending champs Barbados Tridents.

While you could go for the above team, you also have the option of choosing your own team from cricket.com’s Fantasy Research Centre. Based on algorithms we come up with six different team that could fetch crucial points.
In the first six matches of the tournament played at the venue, it’s been evident that it is tailor-made for bowlers. In a world where the pitches are favouring batsmen, especially in white-ball cricket, it is a rarity.
The surface has been troublesome for batsmen even in the first six overs. Usually in a phase where runs are scored freely, they have found boundaries hard to come by. In fact, the percentage of runs scored through boundaries at The Brian Lara stadium in the first six overs is the least among all the venues of CPL since 2018.
Just like the pre-tournament stats suggested, both pacers and the spinners have equally enjoyed success till now this season. The balls/dismissal ratio for pacers is just a tad better than the spinners. They have picked up a wicket every 19.2 balls here this season as compared to spinners who have returned every 19.9 balls. The spinners though have a much better economy rate.
With bowlers coming out on top, we suggest you pack your side with quality bowlers and bowling allrounders.
As far as the batsmen go, Chris Lynn and Evin Lewis are the two obvious choices. The youngster Mark Deyal and the experienced Ben Dunk are the other options you can choose from.
Roston Chase was Zouks’ best batsman in the 1st match and with his occasional off-spin he alongside Mohammad Nabi are the best choice allrounders.
Both teams are heavily reliant on their pacers to get the job done. Sheldon Cottrell, who has been one of the best Powerplay bowlers is an obvious choice. The likes of Rayad Emrit and Kesrick Williams can also be looked at.
There could be a few interesting match-ups too.
EVIN LEWIS vs KESRICK WILLIAMS
Evin Lewis has a good record against Williams in T20s. In the 6 innings he has faced against him, he has scored over 50 runs at a strike rate of 193.1. He has got out to him only on two occasions.
CHRIS LYNN vs MOHAMMAD NABI
Lynn has unleashed his brutal self against Nabi in T20s. In the 13 balls he has faced him he has got out once, but has scored more than 30 runs at a mind boggling strike rate of 284.6.
DAREN SAMMY vs RAYAD EMRIT
Daren Sammy has blown hot and cold against Emrit in T20s. He certainly has a high strike rate, but also has got out to him numerous times.
CHRIS LYNN: Chris Lynn has got starts in this season of CPL, but hasn’t been able to convert those.
However, his record against the current Zouks bowling line-up is impressive and more than that, Zouks lack that spin factor. And Lynn has been brutal against pacers. Since 2016 in CPL, Lynn has a strike rate of 177.6 against the pacers with an average of 36.8. For a minimum of 200 balls faced, his strike rate against pace is the 2nd best among all batsmen in the tournament since 2016.
Lynn’s strike-rate and average against spin drops down considerably but against the Zouks, who do not have a lot of quality spinners in their arsenal, the opener could turn out to be match-winner.
Our Criclytics Player Projection says Lynn will score 13-36 runs in the match against Zouks
EVIN LEWIS: Lewis just like his opening partner has a liking towards the Zouks.
The hard-hitting opener has scored 399 runs against them at a strike rate of 165 with 5 scores of over 50 in 10 innings in CPL. His 399 runs are the 2nd most by a batsman against Zouks in CPL. Lewis, if he gets going, can certainly turn out to be one who can help you with a lot of points.
Our Criclytics Player Projection has Lewis scoring 13-36 runs against Zouks in Match 7.
RAYAD EMRIT: Rayad Emrit so far in the two matches he has played this season has been good. He bagged three wickets in the 2nd match, but his efforts went in vain.
On the back of his three wicket haul and a sensational record against the Zouks in CPL, the Patriots skipper Emrit will look to turn the tables. His 23 wickets against the Zouks is the most by a bowler against them in CPL. Certainly, a bowler of that quality can’t be kept out of the fantasy team.
Our Criclytics Player Projection says Emrit will pick 0-3 wickets against Zouks in Match 7.
ROSTON CHASE: Chase has been the go-to man for West Indies in the longer format of the game. For Zouks as well his role isn’t different.
In the first match he showed his skills with the bat, but wasn’t in a winning cause. In the 2nd match he bagged two wickets to keep the Barbados total to a minimum. His all-round skills are second to none and aren’t to be ignored. Being an allrounder, Chase is one player who can fetch you a lot of points with both bat and ball.
The Criclytics Player Projection says, Chase will score 11-28 runs and pick 0-1 wickets in Match 7.
