Star Indian All-rounder Set To Join LSG As Mohsin Khan’s Replacement
Mohsin had been away from action due to an ACL injury, but a calf strain sidelined him again
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have employed the services of star Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur after their tall left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan suffered a calf strain, which ruled him out of action indefinitely.
Earlier, Mohsin had been away from the game due to an ACL injury but was finally on course with his recovery for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, now a calf strain so close to the tournament has again seen him sidelined from action.
Shardul, who went unsold at the IPL Mega auction, will now travel with the LSG team to Vizag for their first game of the season against the Delhi Capitals on March 24.
LSG have been really unlucky with injuries this season, and their premier Indian pacers are all either injured or recovering from injury. Akash Deep, Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan are still recovering from their injury, and their current fitness status is unknown.
Zaheer Khan, the mentor of the side, said that the situation will be ‘dynamic’ this season for the team due to these injuries, and they will figure the team out as and when the players are available.
“The situation is dynamic for some of our players due to injuries,” Zaheer said.
“But it’s time that we look for positives and adopt things to tackle the situation amicably. Some players are at the National Cricket Academy, and others are spending time with their physios. Right now, it will not be right to say anything about this. The situation will be dynamic this season.”
