IPL 2025: Star KKR Batter Set To Return Before RCB Game

Quinton de Kock is set to join the side for the remainder of the season along with pacer Spencer Johnson

South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock is set to rejoin the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad for the remainder of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will reach Bengaluru on Thursday, May 15, two days before KKR’s must-win game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Garden City.

De Kock had returned after the league was paused on May 8 due to escalating cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. The league will now resume from May 17 and will conclude on June 3, with the games being restricted to six venues, including Bengaluru.

Additionally, as per reports in ESPNCricinfo, while Moeen Ali’s return is uncertain at the moment, KKR’s other overseas players, including Australian pacer Spencer Johnson and the West Indian all-rounders Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, are also returning in time for the remainder of the season. The Caribbean players will be coming over from Dubai, where they were staying after the league was suspended.

Ahead of their clash against RCB, KKR will also hold two training sessions at the Chinnaswamy.
