19-year-old fast bowler Stella Campbell has been added to Australia Women's squad for the one-off Test against England as Tayla Vlaeminck's replacement. Vlaeminck had injured her foot following the first T20 International (T20I), bringing an end to her Ashes and World Cup dreams.
Campbell took 7 for 25 at the Manuka Oval in a domestic match recently and Australia will hope that she produces similar results in the Test match at the same venue, starting Thursday (January 27).
Campbell made her Test debut in September last year against India, finishing with match figures of 2 for 66 in a drawn game.
"Stella bowled well for us in the Test match against India and provides another fast-bowling option now with Tayla being injured," national selector Shawn Flegler said.
"We will continue to assess conditions over the next couple of days before finalising the team."
Australia have a slender lead in the multi-format Ashes series after winning the first T20I by nine wickets before the next two games were washed out. Following the Test, the two teams will indulge in three ODIs, starting February 3.
