Defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape will kick off SA20 2024 against Joburg Super Kings in Gqeberha on January 10, 2024. Unlike the previous edition, there are some integral changes to the tournament's second edition, with double-headers only to be played on Saturday.
Alongside that, the tournament moves from the classical two semi-finals format to a three-match playoff, including two qualifiers and one eliminator. Last year, it was Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Joburg Super Kings, Pretoria Capitals and Paarl Royals, who made the semi-finals. The final of the tournament is set to be played on February 10, 2024, and is set to clash with South Africa’s home Test series against New Zealand, which begins on February 4.
On September 27, a pre-season player Auction will take place, with the teams already announcing the retained players list ahead of the second season.
