‘Stupid, stupid, stupid’ - Six months ago, Rishabh Pant was subject to the most brutal admonishment on air as the legendary Sunil Gavaskar tore into him for his shot selection.
Pant, with the match in the balance, got out in dubious fashion as he got caught at third-man trying to scoop Scott Boland.
Well, six months on, Pant has ended up redeeming himself, in the eyes of Gavaskar no less.
He notched up his seventh Test century on day two of the Headingley Test and got to the landmark in style, smashing Shoaib Bashir for a six over wide long-on.
And it was Gavaskar on commentary at the time of Pant getting to his ton. The former India captain uttered the words, ‘Superb, superb, superb’ as the wicketkeeper batter got to the landmark.
Once again, just like he did in the IPL, Pant celebrated the ton with a front-flip.
